How can you expect my tears to stop? It’s the price of love.
Are we doing enough for the children of our world?
This picture really touched me. Seemingly two brothers in poverty, the elder one taking care of the younger. It made me wonder if I’m doing enough for the children of our world.
I’d like to share with you what I do in hopes of hearing about the wonderful things you do for the children of our world.
For my part, and I share this with all humility, I sponsor orphans and widows in one of the third-world countries of the world. War and poverty has caused devastation and thousands of little kids remain homeless and without parents. The thought of there being little girls and boys in our world who sleep every night without having a mom or dad to hug just cuts right through my heart. I’ve cried just thinking about it. I send donations to the orphanage. The orphanage also houses and supports widows who’ve lost their husbands and can no longer feed and support themselves and their children.
My friend who runs the orphanage tells me that the monetary support is of course appreciated but what makes a real and heartfelt difference to the little girls and boys is when someone visits them. When someone stops by, hugs them and tells them that they’re loved, and not forgotten, truly makes their day. They feel so incredibly happy, it’s priceless to them. I’ve resolved to visit them as soon as possible.
What is your story with the children of our world?
Thank you. Your message was nice. I’ll do my best. With life and everything else going on, it’s so hard to get enough time.
“If you have love in your life, it can make up for a great many things that are missing. If you don’t have love in your life, no matter what else there is, it’s not enough.”
Now imagine having love for the world and the world loving you back. If only everyone loved, what a world would we be in? Can you imagine, if everyone loved you? If every child, teenager, adult, elder was loved. If people of all nationalities, races, and religions were loved. Where would we be?
I really loved this video. It’s a metaphor for life. So many different faces. All experiencing pain. Shedding tears. Same cause. Even looking strange to others while suffering in their pain. However, their smile, their patience, triumphs their pain. When we’re patient, when we smile, at the pain that life brings, only then will we, at the end, when we finally arrive, truly understand bliss. Eternity is bliss to those who’ve been gifted life.
So often we fall short of showing our love to our loved ones - our moms and dads, our brothers and sisters, our families, our friends, people of the world. We postpone our love, thinking we need to do something big! We forget to smile, to listen, to acknowledge, to show appreciation, to give attention, to make time. If only we set some time each day of the week for all the wonderful people in our lives. Often we’re wrapped up in our own concerns and sometimes we spend more time with strangers than we do with those of our own, those who truly love us. I often wonder what would the world be like if we treated our families like they were our friends, and our friends like they were our families? What if we stopped procrastinating on love? It doesn’t have to be much: a soft smile, a thank you note, a little gift, a few minutes of talk over tea, coffee or dinner. Love can be conveyed in the little things of life, don’t you think?
I want to go away, sailing,
where the waters are deep,
and the sun kisses the ocean;
where heavens and earth embrace,
and dreams come to fruition.
I dream of the day when everyone in the world will live in harmony, love selflessly, and laugh heartily. Till then I shall live with a heart full of hope, I shall love as selflessly as possible, and make everyone I meet on the way laugh if even a little.
The world is a reflection of your own soul. So tend to it. Cultivate the beauty within yourself and you will see much beauty in the world around you.
Color your life with JOY
Think about the word JOY. The dictionary defines “JOY” as taking pleasure and delight, rejoicing. But what should we take pleasure in? What should we delight and rejoice about? The answer is: life! Everything about us, and around us. The air that we breath. Our bodies, our eyes, our face, our hands and feet. How about the ground we walk on? How about water and food? And the earth? And the stars? The Sun? Where would we be if we didn’t have all these? What if there was no air, or if we were missing vital body organs? Or if there was no water, or the Sun never rose for years?
Pause for a moment, close your eyes, and simply cherish everything. Feel the JOY.
Never, never loose HOPE.
Tomorrow is always brighter than today, though you may not see it now. Get yourself out of your present situation. Everyone’s not the same. Do something different. Go Travel. Meet new fresh positive people. Take up a new hobby. Take small steps towards what you’ve always wanted to do. Your present situation may seem bleak, but there is so much more to life than your present situation. Look beyond. Never, never loose HOPE.
